We’re in between worlds, at the cusp of change.
Long-standing international rules, financial institutions, and technological paradigms are shifting substantially. The world we’ve built is changing and with it, some of the assumptions we’ve taken for granted.
So, what comes After Growth?
In the 16th edition of TEDxAmsterdam, we open the floor to dissect the questions that could shape what comes next. What happens when technology changes what it means to be human?
Can we build economies that thrive without perpetual growth?
What does it take to remain hopeful when the problems we face feel bigger than any one of us?
And how do we decide what and who gets to shape the world that comes next?
From the personal to the political, the human to the technological, After Growth asks us to look at the world we’ve inherited and question what comes next.

VENUE
The venue for TEDxAmsterdam 2026 is Pakhuis de Zwijger, a landmark cultural venue on Amsterdam’s waterfront. Located on Piet Heinkade in the city’s Eastern Docklands, Pakhuis de Zwijger combines Amsterdam’s industrial heritage with modern facilities for conferences, talks and cultural events.
Built in 1934 as a refrigerated-goods warehouse, the historic building was later transformed into a dynamic meeting place for creativity, innovation and public dialogue. Today, it hosts lectures, debates, exhibitions, workshops and networking events, making it a natural setting for the exchange of ideas at TEDxAmsterdam. One of its most distinctive architectural features is the Jan Schaefer Bridge, which passes directly through the building.
Situated beside the IJ, Pakhuis de Zwijger offers impressive views across the water and towards Amsterdam’s city centre. Its restored industrial architecture, spacious halls and contemporary event facilities create an inspiring backdrop for TEDxAmsterdam 2026. The venue includes several flexible event spaces, meeting rooms, multimedia studios, a café and a waterfront terrace.
Pakhuis de Zwijger is conveniently located close to Amsterdam Central Station and is easily accessible by public transport and bicycle. Its central waterfront location connects TEDxAmsterdam 2026 with the creative energy, international outlook and innovative spirit of Amsterdam.
In previous years, TEDxAmsterdam events have taken place at some of Amsterdam’s best-known cultural venues, including Internationaal Theater Amsterdam (formerly Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam),DeLaMar Theater, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and De Hallen.
