Join the 2024 edition of the Amsterdam Business Forum with renowned speakers including Adam Grant, Brené Brown and Joseph Oubelkas. This year’s edition is complete with speakers Margriet Sitskoorn, Elke Geraerts, Michiel Muller, and host Ikenna Azuike. The event, organised by Denkproducties will take place on Friday, 27th of September 2024, in AFAS Live Amsterdam. The theme of this year’s edition of the event is Courageous Leadership, with its three sub-themes: Courage to Focus, Courage to Grow and Courage to Lead.

 

Amsterdam Business Forum has been providing its audiences with the right ingredients to make an impact: outstanding speakers, brilliant practices and a community of great minds. The lineup of the past editions include inspirationally acclaimed speakers such as Rutger Bregman, Erin Mayer and Tim Ferris, the author of the global best-seller “The 4-Hour Workweek”.

12:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. Block 2: Courage to Grow

We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. In this block, Adam Grant will share Adam’s his new framework for raising aspirations and exceeding expectations. He will do this in his keynote: “Hidden Potential: The Science of Achieving Greater Things”?

 

2:00 p.m. – 3:45 pm. – Break with deep-dive sessions

 

3.45 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. Block 3: Courage to Lead
What Does It Mean to Dare to Lead? How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders? And how do you embed the value of courage in your culture? Brené Brown and other speakers will share their best insights on leadership with us in this block. Ranging from having tough conversations and setting clear expectations to building trust in teams.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

 

Brené Brown is an American professor, author, public speaker and podcast host. She is a research professor at the University of Houston, where she holds the Huffington Foundation Endowed Chair at the Graduate College of Social Work. She also holds the position of visiting professor in management at the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. Her fields of study include leadership, courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy.

 

For years, people of all ages and walks of life have drawn inspiration and empowerment from Brené’s work. Brené’s TED talk on the power of vulnerability is one of the top five most-viewed TED talks in the world, with over 60 million views. Brené is the first researcher to have a filmed lecture on Netflix.

 

She is an author of six #1 New York Times best sellers including “The Gifts of Imperfection”, “Daring greatly”, “Rising Strong”, “Braving the Wilderness”,”Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts” and “Atlas of the Heart”. In March 2022, she launched a new show on HBO Max that focuses on her latest book titled “Atlas of the Heart”.

 

 

Adam Grant is organizational psychologist at Wharton, bestselling author of “Think Again” and “Hidden Potential”, and host of the podcasts “WorkLife” and “Re:Thinking”, which been downloaded over 65 million times. His TED talks on languishing, original thinkers, and givers and takers have over 30 million views.

 

 

Joseph Oubelkas has a story about resilience and adaptation. About choice and perseverance. At the age of 24, Joseph was wrongfully convicted of drug smuggling. He received a 10-year prison sentence in a Moroccan prison. Innocent. After 1.637 days, he was released: stronger, more positive, and more resilient than ever. Joseph’s story is as extraordinary as it is inspiring. With his life-changing experience, he has touched, moved, motivated, and guided tens of thousands of people in their personal and professional journeys.
